january 22

I skimmed an article on the internet today that said this could be the most depressing day of the year. Various factors are used to figure that out. I felt the opposite of depressed by the time I got home from my little jog. (Would that be pressed? Oppressed?)

I was so cold walking from the metro. I had on my long coat but it doesn’t button all the way down and I had on a skirt and no hat…I was so dreading going back outside. But I am determined so I put on some warm exercise pants, turtleneck, sweat shirt and hoody. The 2 smallest things I had on made the most difference: one of those fleece headband ear warmer deals, and gloves. I just ran around the neighbor hood. I was actually perspiring slightly by the time I got home. The only problem was I am just getting to fast….I got home slightly under 30 minutes.

I haven’t had any sore muscles since last week and I think that was from the yoga. Maybe I am not pushing hard enough. This is all about rhythm…which by nature, I have none. I have to consciously breathe correctly and when I stop the running segments I really slow down and I have to remind myself to walk quickly and run slowly.

So far so good!

Weather: cold…like 33. Some snow on the ground but it was melting all day.
Sighting: the UPS truck.
